Universal Regulated

There is no doubt that this nation is in need of universal health care. The millions of dollars that private hospitals make alone is proof that medical costs are inflated. If there were regulations and caps on the mark ups on all medical procedures and supplies, no one would be able to price gouge those that are uninsured or under insured.

Some blood tests cost $24.00 and other $200.00, and they may be the same test. The cost of an overnight stay is astronomical in many places. Why not others? Why does my 500 count bottle of Advil cost $5.95 but just two pills in the hospital cost me $20.00? The answer to this question is universal regulations that will spread the wealth and fund those who are unfunded. Once regulations are set in place the government will know how and what to budget for. “X” amount of dollars will go for every citizen.

It seems like such a paradox that sick people are rejected for medical coverage while those that are well are given insurance with low premiums. Everyone deserves the level of care no matter the situation they find themselves in. I am blessed to have insurance. But does that make me more worthy than other? No it does not.
