Digital camera has revolutionized photography. It has made photography simpler and faster. Digitization of information has been an ongoing process since past decade; be it in the form of text, image, audio or video. Information Technology is the buzzword of modern times, earlier emphasis was on Technology but now more stress is on Information and its storage.
There are several benefits of Digital Camera which I will mention below.
1. Portability and Ease of Usage A digital camera is compact in size and light weight, which makes it easy to carry around. Its functionality is rather simple, which helps a novice to shoot professionally. It is feature rich and most of the functionality is automated.
2. Unlimited Pictures – The digital camera comes with a smart card to store pictures. Once the card has reached its storage capacity, photos can be moved to a computer and space created for more snaps. The smart card is directly accessible by computer or one can connect the camera to computer; photos are transferred via software . The software comes in a CD along with Digital Camera. Photos can also be stored in other auxiliary storage devices like CD, DVD or even an external Hard Disk Drive.
3. Sharing – The pictures stored in computer can easily be uploaded for sharing among friends and families across the globe. Few popular photo sharing websites are Flickr ,Picasa and Kodak gallery.

7. Editing – The photos taken can be easily modified using software, like Adobe Photoshop. It just depends on individual’s creativity, several features are available, cropping, rotating and flipping, resizing, red eye removal, compressing for uploading, to mention a few.
8. Cost effective and Environmental Friendly – Digital Cameras are cost effective, as there is no hassle of buying film rolls, after every thirty six shots. It comes with rechargeable eco-friendly batteries . Delete photos, which do not turn out to be satisfactory, as per our liking , before sending to print. Unlike past, photos need not be torn away and thrown in trash.
It is a great pleasure shooting with Digital Camera. One can shoot on and on, till his heart content. Digital Camera has made me an avid photographer.
